Waldara Farm Wedding
The Waldara Farm wedding of Jemma & Phil was a beautiful and totally epic day in one of the most picturesque places in NSW. It was also a day filled with some crazy weather.
Waldara Farm is actually a working farm that has been set up to cater for weddings perfectly. Everything from beginning to end can happen here, which is just awesome for couples and their guests. On this day the bride & groom both got ready on the property just in separate houses across from each other. It had been raining on and off all morning, but halfway through preparation a massive storm ripped through the farm. But it didn’t faze Jemma & Phil in the slightest.
Due to the wet weather the wedding ceremony took place in the sheep shearing shed, which would have to be one of the best wet weather backup ceremony locations I have ever shot in. It rained so hard you could bearly hear the vows, but once the ceremony was over the rain started easing up and we were able to take some photos around the property. It is such a big property that we didn’t even starch the surface… I could have shot around there for hours.

Waldara Farm Weddings
Waldara Farm is a beautiful country wedding venue at Edith, near Oberon, set across almost 800 acres on the edge of the Greater Blue Mountains. The scale of the property is a big part of its appeal — there are rolling paddocks, established gardens, lakes and wide-open countryside, while the wedding itself still feels private and contained within the estate.
A Waldara Farm wedding can take place entirely onsite, with several outdoor ceremony locations and a purpose-built Barn for the reception. Couples have exclusive use of the wedding spaces, which gives them plenty of flexibility to choose their own suppliers and create a celebration that feels less like a traditional function-centre wedding.
It is also an excellent venue for wedding photography. The lake, gardens, open farmland and country tracks provide plenty of variety, and the landscape changes significantly with the seasons. Autumn brings colour to the property, winter can be beautifully misty and atmospheric, while spring and summer produce a much greener country landscape.
Another advantage is the onsite accommodation in The Homestead and The Lodge, allowing up to 20 guests to stay together on the property. Having accommodation, preparations, ceremony, photos and reception all in the same place makes Waldara particularly well suited to couples wanting a relaxed destination wedding weekend rather than everyone travelling between multiple locations.
