Orange Wedding Venues

Are you planning a wedding and searching for the best Orange wedding venues? Hey, I’m Adam and I am an Orange wedding photographer who had photographed a heap of weddings in the gorgeous rural town of Orange. I have photographed a lot of weddings over the years and I know what sets an amazing venue apart from an average one.

Orange is a beautiful country town located in the Central Tablelands of New South Wales. The Orange region is the traditional land of the Wiradjuri people It is about 4 hours from Sydney making it an ideal location for a destination wedding. It is not named after the citrus fruit and in fact, they don’t grow oranges as the climate is too cool. It is also not named after the colour of its Autumn leaves. According to wikipedia it was named Orange in honour of Prince William of Orange who later became William I of the Netherlands.

It is famous for its cool climate wines, award-winning restaurants and its stunning scenery. All these factors are some of the main ingredients that couples are looking for in wedding venues and Orange is fast becoming a leading wedding destination for couples all over NSW.

Here is my list of the best Orange wedding venues. Some of these venues I have photographed weddings at, and some are on my bucket list of place I would love to photograph.

1. Borrodell Estate

Borrodell Estate is one of Australia’s highest vineyards and produces exclusively cool climate wines. But I really like Borrodell Estate because of the view. It is located on the scenic slopes of the ancient volcano of Mt Canobolas and the view is spectacular and a perfect backdrop for your wedding.

Borrodell has a variety of accommodation for you and your wedding guests in their cottages or modern suites that are all on-site. Which makes wedding preparation really easy for you as you don’t need to travel anywhere.

There are a number of options for the wedding reception, depending on your wedding size.

Smaller weddings of 10 to 40 guests can be catered for in the restaurant. Weddings of up to 140 guests can be accommodated in the underground wine cellar. and larger wedding will require a marquee.

A beautiful location, onsite accommodation and great food and wine make Borrodell Estate a great option for your Orange wedding and a venue you should seriously consider.

Rowlee is located not far from Orange and it is the best ‘up and coming’ wedding venue.  It has a gorgeous country house with a cellar door that houses award-winning wines.  Rowlee features picturesque scenery with a lush bridal suite.  It also has onsite accommodation and kitchen.  There is a dedicated outdoor area where you can set up a marque for your wedding reception.

The venue offers food and beverage packages to suit all budgets.  It is one of the best wedding venues in Orange.

There is a collection of farm buildings, including the original kitchen and stables.  All these give you many options for your wedding photography.  Rowlee also overlooks Mount Canobolas.

3. Philip Shaw Wines

If you are thinking of getting married in Orange, then Phillip Shaw Wine is a place you should check out. This place has so much potential for a beautiful wedding. And like most places in Orange, it is more of a winery that sometimes does weddings, as opposed to a winery and wedding venue. But the potential is definitely there.

What I love about this Orange wedding venue it that it has a lot of character and is such a unique looking place. There is a beautiful tree lined driveway, manicured gardens, rustic old buildings and lots of trees. So the location is pretty perfect. They don’t have a restaurant so if you want to have a reception, you would just need to get a caterer to do the food. But it is also a good option for couples just looking for a lovely location to have a wedding ceremony and photos afterwards.

Nestled in the picturesque landscape of Borenore, Mejuluelda spreads across a lush 20-acre estate, only a brief 10-minute drive from Orange, New South Wales. This enchanting venue, once a bustling fruit packing shed, has been elegantly transformed to accommodate up to 60 seated guests. The vast, meticulously maintained gardens have the capacity to welcome even more.

Mejuluelda’s roots run deep, with almost nine decades in our family. It was formerly an orchard, famed for its cherries during springtime, a diverse array of stone fruits in the summer, and the bounteous harvest of apples and pears in the autumn months. Nowadays, the family’s passion is channeled into cultivating the garden and preserving the serene willow-lined dam.

The venue offers a rustic charm with its beautifully renovated packing shed, where you can host your cherished guests. Or perhaps you’d prefer to take a leisurely walk through our magical, expansive gardens. With a plethora of spaces, each with its own distinct ambiance, Mejuluelda provides countless opportunities to create lasting memories and capture stunning photographs. 8. Oakleigh Vigneto

Located up on a hill with panoramic views of the landscape is Oakliegh Vigneto. An Italian-inspired winery and farm that I believe would be amazing for a wedding. It is located about 45 mins from Orange but I love the look of this place so I thought it would be important to include it.

There is onsite accommodation available, with the Tuscan inspired Villa that sleeps up to 16 people and features 3.5 bathrooms, living areas, conservatory, fireplaces and a grand piano.

Your wedding ceremony can take place outside on top of the hill overlooking the countryside and a marquee can be set up for weddings just next to the vines. Perfect for those couples looking a beautiful country style wedding amongst the vines.
