Southern Highlands Wedding Venues
Are you engaged and looking for a Southern Highlands wedding venue for your wedding? Hi, I’m Adam, a wedding photographer who loves to shoot weddings all over the Southern Highlands of NSW. I have been shooting around the Southern Highlands for over twelve years so I have seen my fair share of wedding venues. And there are some amazing wedding venues in the Southern Highlands. So on this page, I’d love to share with you some of my favourite wedding venues and also share some venues that I have not photographed yet, but would absolutely love to.
The Southern Highlands is a region 110km south-west of Sydney known for its beautiful landscapes, rolling green hills, quaint little towns, old mansions & homesteads and amazing food & wine. It is so close to Sydney that it makes a perfect location for that destination wedding for most Sydneysiders. It is also known for its amazing wedding venues. The Southern Highlands hosts over 1500 weddings per year.
The thing that really sets the Southern Highlands apart from other Australian destinations is its fairytale-like beauty. It is really like a step back in time, and into a cooler and greener climate with historic romantic homes and estates. Having your wedding in the Southern Highlands is really right out of a fairytale.
From a wedding photographers point of view, Southern Highlands wedding venues have all the ingredients you need to capture beautiful photos. Tips for choosing your Southern Highlands wedding venue
The Southern Highlands is famous for its historic houses, food & wine and its amazing wedding venues. The Southern Highlands region has over 1500 weddings per year and is an extremely popular wedding destination. And rightly so.
If you asked me what my favourite wedding venue is, I really couldn’t answer you. My favourite venue is probably anywhere I have never photographed before. I love shooting in new and different locations and exploring different regions and landscapes. But there are some things, in my opinion, that make some wedding venues better than others. So where is what I look for…
Onsite Accommodation at your venue
The beauty of the Southern Highlands is that there is some much unique accommodation options. Nearly every other property is some sort of Airbnb or Stays rental. They are so much better than some generic hotel room. But what I love even better for weddings is when there is accommodation available at the actual wedding venue.
In the Southern Highlands, you don’t need to spend your whole wedding day travelling from one location to another. You can find wedding venues where there is accommodation onsite. It will make it so much easier for you on the wedding day and it means that you will spend less time travelling and more time hanging out with the people you really care about. And, heaven forbid, you are running late during your wedding day preparations… it’s not like you need to hop in a car and travel to the venue. You are already at the venue, so you just need to walk out your door and walk to the ceremony. It takes all the stress away.
Good wedding ceremony options
When I look for good wedding venues, I look for places where you can have the wedding ceremony and the wedding reception at the same place. Again, not needing to travel makes the day so much easier and less stressful for everyone.
For outdoor ceremonies, look for locations with shade and a nice background. If you are planning an outdoor ceremony, check out my outdoor wedding ceremony tips to help get you started.
It is also very important that you have a nice wet weather backup for your wedding ceremony. Prepare for your wedding as if it might rain. Don’t go in blindly just hoping it won’t rain, because chances are it will. And I have seen couples in tears because they just didn’t think it would rain and had no alternative.
Southern Highlands photo locations
A good wedding venue also has some good photo location on their property. You should be able to find a venue where there is no need to venture offsite to get nice photos. A little bit of land with some nice locations for photos.
In a perfect world… or a perfect venue… there would be some trees, a field of long grass, rows of vines, a rundown shed, a big hill with a single tree, a maze garden, a wall of ivy, a huge outdoor concrete staircase, a rustic wooden fence, with a view of the sunset, on a dirt road, with a lake a pier and a rowboat, a single kangaroo an alpaca and about 1000-acres of land. But I’ll settle any of the above ;)

The Reception
Here is my main tip for the wedding reception room. Choose a wedding venue and a reception room that is a bit unique. I personally hate rooms that look like generic function rooms that could be in any hotel in any city of the world. You are choosing to get married in the Southern Highlands, so choose a venue and room that shows this off. It can be elegant and historic, bohemian and rustic or modern and classic. Whatever your tastes are.
The staff, management or sales people
Go with your gut instinct here. But only choose to work with a venue (and other wedding vendors) if they are warm and friendly and give you good professional service. Don’t choose a venue if they are not particularly friendly or helpful to you, just because you like the venue or the price is right. Because on the wedding day itself, they are not going to instantly become friendly and helpful.
Choose the venue you trust and trust the venue you choose.

Southern Highlands Average Temperatures
Summer – The average temperature is 13°C to 25°C
Autumn – The average temperature is 8°C to 19°C
Winter – The average temperature is 3°C to 12°C
Spring – The average temperature is 8°C to 19°C
Southern Highlands Average Rainfall
Looking at the average rainfall in the Southern Highlands according to the Bureau of Meteorology, the statistics are quite interesting and not what you might expect. The highest rainfall comes in Summer, in February. And the lowest is in Spring in September.
Summer – December 52.3mm, January 59.5mm, February 94.5mm (highest rainfall)
Autumn – March 82.0mm, April 51.4mm, May 38.3mm
Winter – June 84.9mm, July 41.6mm, August 46.9mm
Spring – September 37.5mm (lowest rainfall), October 43.8mm, November 66.1
My advice in regards to rainfall and your wedding is to plan your wedding like it might rain. Always have a backup plan, particularly for your ceremony. But rain is not a bad thing. From a photography point-of-view, some of my favourite weddings ever have been rainy-day weddings. So don’t worry if it rains. It looks great in photos. Australia needs rain, so if it does rain on your wedding day, run out into the rain and dance, kiss, sing. Have fun! You will have the most unique and awesome wedding photos if you just embrace it.

Best time to have a wedding in the Southern Highlands
Autumn & Spring Weddings – Peak times for weddings in the Southern Highlands are always Spring and Autumn. Key dates during these periods will book out very quickly. And you will find that popular venues will quickly book out a year to two years in advance.
You will also find that dates around school holidays and long weekends will book out quickly.
The beauty of the Southern Highlands is that it is a cooler climate zone. Which means you can have a wedding in the Southern Highlands all year round.
Summer weddings – During the summer months, when most of New South Wales is way too hot for a wedding, the Southern Highlands averages around 25°C. Which makes summer a perfect option for weddings.
Winter weddings – Winter is definitely an off-peak season for weddings in the Southern Highlands, but I think that it is a season you should strongly consider. Photographically speaking, the sun is lower in the sky. Which is amazing for photos. It means that it is like sunset all day. You seriously get the most amazing light in winter. You are more likely to get mist and fog, which makes photos even more romantic.
From a temperature point of view, it’s not that cold during the day. Guys will be wearing a suit so they will be fine and girls will just need to wear a jacket, coat or something similar and appropriate for winter. Once the sun sets it will get cold, yes. The sun will set earlier, around 5pm. And once the sun sets you can go into your warm wedding venue with a roaring fireplace. They build venues and accommodation in the Southern Highlands to be insulated and warm during winter.
Photographers love winter weddings. It is great for photos. And because winter is considered off-peak for weddings, you may be able to book your dream wedding venue more easily. And you may be able to get it at a slightly cheaper price… maybe?

From practical tips to inspiration that’ll get you swooning, we’ll help you navigate the options so you can focus on what matters most—marrying your favourite person in a place that feels just right. Let’s dive in!

Wedding Venue Atmosphere and Style
One of the most important things to consider when choosing a wedding venue is its vibe. A venue is more than just a space—it sets the tone for your entire day. Luckily, the Southern Highlands has something for everyone, from laid-back, rustic charm to polished elegance.
Start by thinking about the kind of wedding you want. Are you dreaming of a relaxed outdoor celebration surrounded by wildflowers, or a sleek and sophisticated event with all the glam? Maybe your style is somewhere in between—a mix of casual charm and timeless elegance. Whatever your vision, it’s important to choose a venue that complements your theme.
Here’s a tip: close your eyes and imagine your wedding day. What does it look like? Are your guests mingling on a sunlit lawn, sipping champagne under the trees? Are you dancing the night away in a candlelit barn or an elegant ballroom? Once you’ve nailed down the overall vibe, it’s easier to narrow down venues that fit the picture.
The Southern Highlands is renowned for its diverse range of venue styles. Here are a few common ones to consider:
- Gardens: If your dream wedding involves lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and a romantic outdoor setting, a garden venue is a perfect fit. The Southern Highlands is home to some of the most exquisite gardens in Australia, offering stunning backdrops for both ceremonies and receptions.
- Farms: Rustic and full of charm, farm venues are ideal for couples who want a relaxed, down-to-earth celebration. Think wooden barns, open paddocks, and sunsets that will take your breath away.
- Wineries: For couples who love the idea of a vineyard backdrop, winery venues offer a mix of sophistication and warmth. Plus, you’re guaranteed great wine—always a win for your guests!
- Estates: If you’re after a touch of grandeur, estate venues offer the perfect mix of elegance and intimacy. With sprawling lawns and stately architecture, these venues feel timeless and luxurious.
Choosing a venue that aligns with your style will make your wedding feel cohesive and personal. Plus, it helps set the stage for all the little details, from your décor to your dress. Remember, your venue is the canvas on which you’ll paint your wedding day—it should feel like an extension of your love story.
And here’s a pro tip: don’t just rely on photos or online reviews (though they’re super helpful!). Visit the venues in person if you can. There’s nothing like standing in the space to get a true sense of whether it feels right for you. Soak in the atmosphere, imagine your guests there, and trust your instincts. If it feels like the one, you’ll know!

Outdoor vs Indoor Options
Let’s talk about one of the most unpredictable (and often overlooked) guests at your wedding: the weather. While the Southern Highlands is known for its gorgeous scenery and fresh, crisp air, it’s also known for weather that can change its mood quicker than you can say “rain on my wedding day.” That’s why it’s super important to think about whether your chosen venue can handle whatever Mother Nature decides to throw at you.
Outdoor Spaces: Embracing Nature’s Beauty
There’s something undeniably magical about an outdoor wedding in the Southern Highlands. Imagine exchanging vows under a canopy of trees, surrounded by sweeping views of rolling hills or blossoming gardens—it’s the kind of setting that feels straight out of a movie. Outdoor spaces here often come with picture-perfect backdrops, and they let you take full advantage of the region’s natural beauty.
When scouting outdoor venues, keep these features in mind:
- Scenic Views: Look for a space that frames the Highlands’ stunning landscapes. Whether it’s panoramic hilltops or a lush garden oasis, the scenery can double as your wedding décor.
- Shade and Shelter: Even if the weather’s perfect, your guests will thank you for some shade on a sunny day. Think big trees, marquees, or even cute parasols for a little extra charm.
- Practical Layout: Check if the space is level and accessible for your guests (especially those in heels!). Nobody wants to watch Great Aunt Mavis navigating a tricky slope.
- Power and Lighting: If your celebration continues into the evening, ask about outdoor lighting options and power availability for music and other needs.
Pro tip: Always have a weather plan. Even in the warmer months, an unexpected sprinkle or chilly breeze can surprise you. Many outdoor venues offer marquees or nearby indoor options for a seamless transition, which is a lifesaver when the weather doesn’t play nice.
Indoor Spaces: Cosy and Reliable
Indoor venues in the Southern Highlands have a charm all their own, offering a cosy, intimate atmosphere that’s just as dreamy as an outdoor setting. Whether it’s a heritage barn, a grand estate, or a boutique winery, indoor spaces come with added peace of mind—no weather worries here!
Key amenities to look for in indoor venues include:
- Cosy Interiors: Think fireplaces, exposed timber beams, or elegant furnishings. These touches can make your wedding feel warm and inviting, especially during the cooler months.
- Good Acoustics: If you’re planning speeches, live music, or a DJ, check if the venue’s acoustics work for your plans. Nobody wants the “I love you” in your vows drowned out by an echo!
- Lighting Options: Natural light is a photographer’s dream, so look for large windows if you’re planning a daytime wedding. For evening celebrations, consider how the venue’s lighting can set the mood.
- Space and Flow: Make sure there’s enough room for your guests to mingle, eat, and dance without feeling cramped. A well-laid-out space can make the day flow smoothly.
The Best of Both Worlds
If you can’t decide between outdoor or indoor, why not have both? Many Southern Highlands wedding venues offer a mix of beautiful outdoor ceremony spaces paired with indoor reception areas. This gives you the best of both worlds—a dreamy outdoor setting for the “I dos” and a cosy, weatherproof space for the party.
Ultimately, the key is to find a venue that fits your vision and has the flexibility to adapt. The Southern Highlands’ weather might be unpredictable, but with the right venue, your wedding day will be perfect no matter what.

Southern Highlands Wedding Ceremony and Reception Spaces
Let’s talk logistics—specifically, the magic of finding a venue that offers both ceremony and reception spaces in one location. If you’ve ever witnessed the chaos of trying to get 100 people from one spot to another on a tight timeline, you’ll know why this is such a game-changer. The convenience of having everything in one place not only makes life easier for you and your guests but also creates a seamless flow for your big day.
The Perks of One Location
Imagine this: You say your vows in a stunning garden, toast your love with cocktails on a sun-drenched terrace, and then move effortlessly into a beautifully styled reception space—all without anyone needing to step into a car. Bliss, right? Having everything in one location means:
- No Travel Stress: Your guests won’t have to navigate unfamiliar roads or figure out transport between venues. Plus, it reduces the risk of anyone getting lost or running late.
- More Time to Celebrate: With no travel time cutting into your schedule, you’ll have more time to soak up the magic of the day with your loved ones.
- Streamlined Coordination: You won’t have to juggle multiple vendors or timelines across different venues. Everything happens in one beautifully coordinated space.
Key Questions to Ask
When touring venues, make sure to ask these essential questions to ensure the space works for both your ceremony and reception:
- Layouts and Flow:
- How are the ceremony and reception spaces arranged?
- Is there a natural flow for guests to transition between the two?
- Are there spaces for pre-reception drinks or canapés while the main area is being set up?
- Guest Capacity:
- Can the venue comfortably accommodate your guest list for both the ceremony and reception?
- Are there separate spaces for mingling, dining, and dancing, or will the layout need to change throughout the day?
- Accessibility:
- Are both spaces easily accessible for all guests, including those with mobility challenges?
- Are restrooms conveniently located?
- Weather Contingencies:
- If the ceremony is outdoors, what’s the backup plan in case of rain?
- Are both spaces climate-controlled for comfort in any season?
The Appeal of Flexible Spaces
One of the hallmarks of great Southern Highlands wedding venues is their versatility. Many venues offer spaces that can be adapted throughout the day, adding an extra layer of charm and practicality to your wedding. For example:
- Garden Ceremonies, Indoor Receptions: Begin your day surrounded by nature, then move indoors to celebrate in style.
- Multi-Use Areas: Some venues feature spaces that can transform from a ceremony area to a dance floor or from a cocktail lounge to a reception hall.
- Breakout Spaces: Venues with multiple smaller areas—like terraces, courtyards, or lounges—let guests mingle, relax, or even sneak away for quieter moments.
Creating a Seamless Experience
A venue with both ceremony and reception spaces isn’t just about convenience—it’s about creating an immersive experience. Your guests won’t feel like they’re attending two separate events; instead, the day will flow naturally, from heartfelt vows to joyous celebrations.
By asking the right questions and prioritising a space that works for every part of your day, you’ll ensure your wedding is as stress-free and magical as you’ve always imagined. And let’s be honest, fewer logistics mean more time to focus on the important stuff—like celebrating with the people you love most!

Wedding Accommodation and Guest Experience
One of the biggest factors in planning a wedding is ensuring your guests are comfortable and can enjoy the celebration without worrying about logistics. After all, they’re coming to celebrate you, and making it easy for them to attend (and have a great time) is all part of being a fabulous host. Here’s what to think about when it comes to accommodation and the overall guest experience at your Southern Highlands wedding.
The Perks of On-Site or Nearby Accommodation
Let’s face it: weddings are often a long day, and by the end of the night, your guests will want nothing more than to kick off their shoes and collapse into a comfy bed. That’s why having on-site or nearby accommodation is such a huge bonus. Here’s why it matters:
- Convenience: Your guests won’t need to organise transport back home or to a hotel late at night. Instead, they can simply wander a few steps to their room.
- Safety: No one needs to worry about driving after a night of celebrating (and a few too many glasses of wine).
- Extended Celebrations: Accommodation on-site or nearby means you can turn your wedding into a mini-getaway. Think post-wedding brunches or a casual recovery picnic the next day.
Southern Highlands venues often cater to this, with charming cottages, boutique hotels, or even cosy farm stays either on the property or just a short distance away. It’s a great way to make the experience feel like a little holiday for everyone involved.
Transport and Parking for Venues Without Accommodation
If your chosen venue doesn’t offer accommodation, it’s worth thinking about how your guests will get to and from the event. A little planning goes a long way to ensure everything runs smoothly:
- Transport Options: Consider hiring buses, minibuses, or shuttles to ferry guests between the venue and nearby hotels. Not only does this keep things organised, but it also adds a touch of luxury to the day.
- Parking: If some guests plan to drive, make sure the venue has ample parking. Check if there are clear instructions or signage to direct people where to go—it’s no fun driving in circles when you’re dressed in your wedding best!
- Rideshare Services: Research if services like Uber or taxis operate in the area. The Southern Highlands is more regional, so availability might be limited. Offering pre-booked options or a local driver service can be a lifesaver.
Adding Value with Local Attractions
One of the best things about the Southern Highlands is that it’s not just a wedding destination—it’s a destination full stop. If you’re hosting out-of-town guests, they’ll love having the chance to explore the area. Proximity to local attractions can make your wedding even more memorable for them.
Here’s how to make the most of what’s around:
- Wine Country Delights: The Southern Highlands is known for its wineries, so suggest a wine-tasting tour for guests who arrive early or stay an extra day.
- Nature and Gardens: From the stunning Fitzroy Falls to quaint gardens and walking trails, nature lovers will have plenty to explore.
- Village Charm: Guests will adore wandering through charming villages like Bowral, Mittagong, or Berrima, which are packed with boutique shops, cosy cafes, and historic spots.
- Local Guides: Consider providing a little guide to the area in your invitations or wedding website. Highlight key attractions, the best restaurants, and any must-see landmarks.
Making the Guest Experience Unforgettable
Ultimately, the goal is to create a day (or weekend!) that your guests will look back on with nothing but fond memories. Thoughtful touches like transport options, nearby accommodation, or even suggesting a few local adventures can elevate your wedding from a one-day celebration to a full experience for everyone involved.
Remember, the Southern Highlands is more than just a backdrop for your big day—it’s a magical region that your guests will fall in love with too. By planning with their comfort in mind, you’ll ensure they leave your wedding feeling as overjoyed as you do!

Wedding Catering and Beverage Options
Food and drink are the heartbeat of any great wedding—because let’s be honest, who doesn’t love a fabulous meal and a glass (or three) of bubbly? When it comes to choosing a Southern Highlands wedding venue, catering and beverage options should be high on your priority list. The right menu and bar setup can turn your reception from “lovely” to “unforgettable.” Here’s what to consider.
Menu Flexibility is Key
No two weddings are alike, and your menu should be as unique as your love story. Whether you’re dreaming of a lavish sit-down dinner, a relaxed grazing table, or something quirky like a food truck, flexibility is essential. Here’s what to think about:
- Dietary Requirements: Your guests are a mixed bag, and chances are you’ll have a few with dietary needs—vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or even nut allergies. Check if the venue or caterer can accommodate these seamlessly.
- Custom Menus: Some venues allow you to create a bespoke menu tailored to your taste. This is perfect if you have a signature dish or a cultural cuisine you’d like to incorporate.
- Tasting Options: Ask if the venue offers menu tastings before the big day. It’s a fun pre-wedding experience and ensures you’re 100% happy with what’s being served.
- Seasonal and Local Ingredients: Many Southern Highlands venues pride themselves on showcasing fresh, local produce. It’s a great way to highlight the region’s flavours and add a special touch to your wedding.
Bar Packages and BYO Options
What’s a celebration without a well-stocked bar? When it comes to beverages, you’ll want to ask the right questions to ensure the drinks flow all night without a hitch:
- Bar Packages:
- Does the venue offer a range of bar packages?
- Are there options for unlimited drinks, drink tickets, or pay-as-you-go setups?
- Can you customise the bar menu to include your favourite cocktails or signature drinks?
- BYO (Bring Your Own):
- Is BYO an option, and if so, what are the conditions?
- Are there corkage fees, and how much are they?
- Does the venue provide glassware, ice, and staff for BYO setups?
- Local Wines and Craft Beers:
- Many Southern Highlands venues have partnerships with local wineries and breweries. Ask if you can feature these on your bar menu for a unique, regional touch.
In-House Catering vs. External Vendors
Another key factor is whether your venue offers in-house catering or works with external vendors. Both options have their perks, so it’s about finding what suits your style:
- In-House Catering:
- Many venues have their own chefs or catering teams, which can simplify planning.
- Ask to see their menu options and whether they’re open to customisation.
- In-house teams often have intimate knowledge of the venue, ensuring everything runs smoothly.
- Preferred Vendor Partnerships:
- Some venues partner with trusted caterers, giving you a curated list of experts to choose from.
- These vendors are often familiar with the venue’s layout and logistics, which is a big plus.
- Flexibility with Outside Vendors:
- If you have your heart set on a specific caterer, check if the venue allows external suppliers.
- Make sure to clarify any additional fees or requirements (e.g., kitchen facilities or power needs).
Pro Tips for Choosing the Right Catering and Beverage Setup
- Budget Wisely: Food and drinks are often one of the biggest wedding expenses, so make sure you have a clear understanding of costs upfront.
- Consider Timing: Think about when and how you’ll serve food and drinks. Will there be canapés during cocktail hour? A late-night snack station? These little extras can make a big difference.
- Ask for Recommendations: Venues often know the best local vendors, so don’t hesitate to ask for suggestions.
- Match Your Theme: From a formal three-course dinner to a relaxed BBQ or grazing table, make sure your catering style fits the vibe of your wedding.
Elevating Your Guest Experience
The food and drinks at your wedding are more than just a meal—they’re an experience. A perfectly crafted menu paired with thoughtfully chosen beverages creates moments your guests will rave about long after the day is over. By choosing a venue that offers flexibility and expertise in catering and beverages, you’ll ensure your reception is every bit as delicious as it is memorable.

Wedding Photography Opportunities
When it comes to your wedding, the photos are one of the most tangible takeaways from the day. They’ll capture every smile, every tear, and every magical moment, so choosing a venue with incredible photography opportunities is key. The setting of your venue can influence not just the style of your photos but the overall vibe of your album.
- Venue Setting: Look for venues with stunning natural or architectural backdrops. A scenic garden, a vineyard with rolling hills, or a venue with unique historical features can take your photos from ordinary to extraordinary.
- Features to Look For: Think about the little details that will shine on camera—manicured gardens, tree-lined walkways, rustic barns, dramatic staircases, or vintage features like old stone walls or fountains.
- Seasonal Changes: Keep in mind how the venue changes with the seasons. Blossoming flowers in spring, golden leaves in autumn, or soft snow in winter can completely transform the look of your photos.
- Do Your Homework: Ask venues for photos from past weddings to see how the space translates on camera. Bonus: It can also inspire your own photo ideas!
Accessibility and Logistics
While aesthetics are essential, the practical side of your venue can make or break your wedding day. Accessibility and logistics play a big role in ensuring everything runs smoothly.
- Guest Accessibility: Consider whether the venue is easy to access for all guests, including those with mobility challenges. Are there ramps, elevators, or flat pathways for wheelchairs and prams?
- Venue Guidelines: Make sure you’re clear on the venue’s policies, including setup times, noise restrictions, and pack-down requirements. These details can affect your timeline and your vendors’ ability to deliver.
- Essentials: Check if the venue provides restrooms, power availability for lighting and music, and Wi-Fi (helpful for vendors and live-streaming your ceremony for guests who can’t attend).
Budget and Package Inclusions
Let’s talk numbers. Your wedding budget is precious, and understanding what’s included in your venue hire fee is crucial to avoid surprises.
- What’s Included: Many venues offer packages that include tables, chairs, basic décor, and even catering or staffing. Make sure you know what’s covered and what you’ll need to source yourself.
- Hidden Costs: Watch out for extra charges like cleaning fees, corkage, security deposits, or overtime penalties. These can sneak up and add a significant chunk to your bill.
- Balancing Budget and Flexibility: A more affordable venue might require you to bring in more external vendors, while a pricier venue could include everything you need. Weigh the pros and cons to see what works best for your budget and vision.

Southern Highlands Wedding Vendor and Styling Support
Your vendors will help bring your wedding day to life, so understanding the venue’s policies around external suppliers is important.
- Preferred Vendor Lists: Some venues have a list of trusted vendors they work with regularly. This can save you time researching and ensure everything runs smoothly.
- Flexibility: If you have specific vendors in mind, check if the venue allows you to bring in outside suppliers.
- Venue Coordinator: A dedicated venue coordinator or on-the-day support can be invaluable for managing logistics, answering questions, and ensuring everything goes to plan.
- Creative Freedom: If you have a strong vision for styling, find out how flexible the venue is with personal touches like DIY décor, furniture layouts, or lighting installations.
Reviews and Recommendations
Finally, don’t just take the venue’s word for it—get insights from others who’ve tied the knot there.
- Past Reviews: Read reviews from previous couples to get a sense of the venue’s service, flexibility, and overall vibe. Look for consistent themes in the feedback.
- Ask the Experts: Your vendors—like your photographer, florist, or planner—likely have experience with the venue and can offer valuable advice on its strengths and challenges.
- Site Visits: Never underestimate the power of a site visit. Photos online are helpful, but seeing the space in person will give you a true feel for its potential. Take notes, ask questions, and bring someone whose opinion you trust.
By considering all these elements, you’ll be well-equipped to choose a Southern Highlands wedding venue that ticks every box—beautiful, practical, and perfectly suited to your dream day.
