Hunter Valley Resort & Farm Wedding
We are excited to share our very first wedding from a fairly new Hunter Valley wedding venue called the Hunter Valley Resort & Farm.
Hunter Valley Resort + Farm is a family-owned and operated wedding venue and farm, with two generations of the Helé family still living on-site and actively involved in its day-to-day operations. The Hunter Valley resort is situated on over 100 acres of land, offering some stunning views for a wedding, which I love as a Hunter Valley wedding photographer.
The property has 35 guestrooms, the 4 Pines at the Farm Restaurant + Taproom and the Hunter Farm Cellar Door. And these all overlook the resort’s 55-year-old shiraz vines. So you can pretty much have your whole wedding day, from start to finish, onsite at the Hunter Valley Resort & Farm.
Hunter Valley Resort + 4 Pines at the Farm Weddings
Hunter Valley Resort + Farm, home to 4 Pines at the Farm, is a relaxed Hunter Valley wedding venue on Hermitage Road in Pokolbin. Set across around 100 acres with established vineyards and wide rural views, it’s a good option for couples wanting a wedding that feels less formal than some of the traditional winery venues while still having everything in one location.
One of the biggest advantages is that couples can hold their wedding ceremony and reception onsite, with a number of different indoor and outdoor spaces available across the property. The venue has vineyard views, open lawns and rustic country surroundings, so there is plenty of flexibility when deciding how you want the day to look.
Wedding Receptions at 4 Pines at the Farm
4 Pines at the Farm is one of the main social spaces at Hunter Valley Resort. It includes a large 600-square-metre taproom, bistro and cellar door, along with a covered balcony and extensive lawns overlooking the surrounding vineyards and towards the Barrington Tops.
For weddings, the property offers several function spaces and a large bar area, with air-conditioned indoor options particularly useful during hot Hunter Valley summers or when the weather isn’t cooperating. The relaxed brewery atmosphere also makes it well suited to couples who want their reception to feel more like a big celebration with family and friends rather than a very formal wedding.
Wedding Photos at Hunter Valley Resort
From a photography point of view, there is a lot to work with without needing to leave the property. The vineyards, long grass, farm scenery and open views give you plenty of classic Hunter Valley wedding photo locations, while the buildings, brewery and rustic areas around the resort provide a different look again.
Having so much space onsite is particularly useful around sunset. Rather than driving somewhere else for photos, couples can head out for a short portrait session when the light is at its best and then quickly return to their reception.
The property also looks very different throughout the seasons, so couples planning an autumn or winter wedding shouldn’t necessarily expect the same vineyard colours they might see in photographs from spring or summer.
Accommodation at Hunter Valley Resort
Another major advantage of having a wedding at Hunter Valley Resort is the onsite accommodation. The resort currently has 36 rooms and cottages spread across the property, including standard Hunter Rooms, King Rooms, Spa Cottage Rooms and a two-bedroom cottage.
That makes it convenient for couples, wedding parties and guests who want to stay close to the reception rather than organising transport back to accommodation elsewhere in Pokolbin. There are also additional rooms available at the neighbouring Tuscany property for larger groups.
Having accommodation, restaurants, the 4 Pines taproom and other activities all onsite also makes the venue particularly useful for couples planning a full Hunter Valley wedding weekend rather than just the wedding day itself. Welcome drinks, family catch-ups and recovery brunches can all potentially happen around the same property.
Is Hunter Valley Resort a Good Hunter Valley Wedding Venue?
Hunter Valley Resort + 4 Pines at the Farm is particularly worth considering if you want a Hunter Valley wedding venue with accommodation, ceremony locations, reception spaces and plenty of photo opportunities all in one place. The combination of vineyards, open countryside and the more casual atmosphere of 4 Pines at the Farm makes it a little different from many of the more traditional winery wedding venues around Pokolbin.
