Mudgee Wedding Venues
Are you engaged and searching for the best Mudgee wedding venues? Hey, I’m Adam and I am a Mudgee wedding photographer who has photographed a heap of weddings in the gorgeous rural town of Mudgee. I have photographed a lot of weddings over the years and I know what sets an amazing venue apart from an average one.
Mudgee is a beautiful country town located in the Central West of New South Wales. It is about 3.5 hours from Newcastle & Sydney making it an ideal location for a destination wedding. The traditional Aboriginal landowners of the land are the Wiradjuri people. And the name Mudgee comes from the Wiradjuri word Moothi, which means “nest in the hill”.
It is the third-largest wine region in New South Wales and it is really known for its amazing food and wine which makes it really popular with Sydneysiders. This great food & wine has also opened the doors to weddings and Mudgee is fast becoming a very popular wedding destination for many couples.
Here is my list of the best Mudgee wedding venues. Some of these venues I have photographed weddings at, and some are on my bucket list of places I would love to photograph.
1. The Vinegrove Mudgee
The Vinegrove Mudge is without a doubt one of the most popular and best wedding venues in Mudgee. It is a bespoke marquee style wedding venue located on 50 acres of vineyard and farmland.
It is pretty much set up right in the middle of the vines. I remember hearing the story, years ago, that the owners took a tractor the centre of the vineyard and cleared an area for weddings to happen. And I can’t think of any other venue in Australia that has a marquee set up in the middle of the vines like this place. And it is perfectly set up to host the most amazing weddings!
There is accommodation available onsite with The Homestead. And you can have as many people as you want stay there! They give you enough linen for eight people and then you can do what you want. Pretty awesome. And it’s a pet friendly wedding venue as well.
Wedding ceremonies will generally happen in the garden area out near The Homestead under two giant cottonwood trees. Then there are plenty of locations around the property for photos so there is no need to travel offsite for photography.
The wedding reception takes place in the marquee which is a beautiful space that is always impeccably styled. This is such a good place to have your wedding! By getting married here you can almost guarantee beautiful wedding photos. That is why I think it is one of the best Mudgee wedding venues.

2. Blue Wren Farm
Looking for a premium wedding venue situated in the heart of the Mudgee wine region, then look no further than Blue Wren Farm. This awesome Mudgee wedding venue is also a working farm and it is run by some of the nicest people anywhere. They seriously work so hard to give you an amazing experience and you can tell they have a real passion for what they do.
There is accommodation available onsite with The Farmhouse. A self-contained farmhouse that has five bedrooms and sleeps ten people in total. There is a wrap around verandah, perfect for relaxing with a bottle of wine. It is perfect for wedding preparation for either or both of you.
Blue Wren also has glamping facilities available and permanently set up onsite which they call Blue Wren Bells. It has eleven tents that can sleep two people in each and there are hot showers and toilets facilities available onsite.
Wedding ceremonies generally take place in the garden area just next to the reception venue. And the reception venue is call The White Hall. Which I would describe as clean and modern elegance with a country feel. It is simply stunning for your reception and can accommodate up to 180 wedding guests seated.
Address: 433 Ulan Rd, Mudgee NSW
3. Putta Bucca House
Putta Bucca House is a gorgeous and historic garden wedding venue set on 25 acres in the Mudgee countryside. It has manicured formal gardens, a historic house, and beautiful outlooks. This makes it an amazing Mudgee wedding venue that you have to check out.
Accommodation is available in the historic Putta Bucca House which makes wedding preparation very easy for couples. Ceremonies take place outside in the garden area and wedding reception is in the marquee located towards the side of the property.
Putta Bucca House has everything you need for a beautiful garden and marquee wedding making it one of the best Mudgee wedding venues.
Address: 74 Putta Bucca Rd, Mudgee NSW
4. Pipeclay Pumphouse Restaurant
The Pipeclay Pumphouse Restaurant is located within the Robert Stein Vineyard & Winery in Mudgee and is a wonderful location for a wedding.
I have photographed one wedding here and I think it has so much potential for couples looking for a unique location with fantastic food and wine. As their name suggests, you are booking a restaurant more than a traditional wedding venue. So keep that in mind when you enquire and view the property. But the Pipeclay Pumphouse Restaurant is a fine dining restaurant that is known for its amazing food. They have a paddock to plate philosophy and all the produce is sourced from the local farmers in and around Mudgee. And much of the products come from the Robert Stein farm which surrounds the vineyard.
There is no accommodation available on site but there is so much local accommodation available locally and very close to Pipeclay Pumphouse.
The wedding ceremony can happen pretty much anywhere on the property. There is farmland and vineyards everywhere you look. And it is a wonderful venue for wedding photos. No need to travel offsite for that. There is lots of land and lots of beautiful scenic locations for photography.
The wedding reception happens in the Pipeclay Pumphouse Restaurant where you will get some of the best fine dining food in Mudgee. It’s not a huge restaurant so they are more suited to smaller and more intimate numbers. I think around 50 to 60 people max but check with them for exact numbers. Highly recommend you check out this place.

Set on outside of the Mudgee Township, Burrundulla is not far from Sydney and Newcastle. There is a range of unique spots across the property for you to hold your wedding reception. Celebrations can be held in the courtyard adjoining the cellar door, and it should accommodate up to 40 guests. Failing that, marquees can be provided for a larger amount of guests.

It gives you the best of both worlds for your ceremony. You can still have your outdoor wedding ceremony showing off the beauty of the landscape, but still have the cover and shelter from the sun and rain.
