Putta Bucca House Wedding

The Putta Bucca House wedding of Naomi & Dane was one of those weddings where everything falls into place just perfectly. It was a gorgeous day, beautiful light, amazing location and with two of the nicest people you could ever meet.

The wedding took place in Mudgee, at an old historic house from 1827 called Putta Bucca House. The wedding ceremony took place in the garden, while the reception was held in a marquee onsite. And with 25 acres of land to explore, there was plenty of places for photos.

To get some of the photos you will see, these guys walked through some of the meanest, most prickly grass you have ever seen. It may have looked like dry grass, but it was basically prickly thorns in the shape of grass. And for the last photo of the night, Dane literally threw Naomi over his shoulder and stepped over a wire fence in the dark.

Putta Bucca House Weddings

Putta Bucca House is a historic private estate wedding venue in Mudgee, dating back to 1827. Set among established gardens with views across the surrounding Mudgee countryside, the property has a very different feel from the region’s vineyard venues, combining heritage architecture with a relaxed country setting.

One of the standout features of a Putta Bucca House wedding is the garden setting. The estate includes formal rose gardens, a wisteria-covered pergola, mature trees, lawns and a distinctive moon gate, giving couples several options for ceremonies and plenty of variety for wedding photos without needing to leave the property.

Receptions can be created around the gardens and lawns using marquee-style setups, which gives couples quite a lot of flexibility in how the wedding is styled. The historic homestead and wide verandahs also add character to the property and make a great contrast to the open rural landscape surrounding Mudgee.

From a photography point of view, Putta Bucca House is particularly good because the venue changes noticeably as you move around the estate. You can photograph among the formal gardens and old architecture before heading into the more open sections of the property for completely different country scenery later in the afternoon.

Accommodation is available within the historic homestead, including the Garden Suite and Courtyard Suite, and the venue can also arrange glamping within the grounds for additional guests.
