Public Dining Room Wedding Balmoral
Public Dining Room Wedding Balmoral
The Public Dining Room wedding in Balmoral of Rachel & Brendan was an amazing day to be a part of. These are two of the most relaxed and easy going people and it was such a pleasure to photograph their beautiful wedding
The day started off in the city of Sydney. They both got ready in the same luxury apartment block, just in different rooms on different floors. So it made preparation photos really convenient for both of them and me.
The outdoor wedding ceremony was held at Balmoral Beach on Rocky Point Island. Rocky Point is that small island in the middle of Balmoral Beach that has a beautiful little bridge connecting it to the walkway. The island technically separates Balmoral Beach from Edwards Beach but it is basically the same beach. If you are looking for a beautiful more natural setting, I think Rocky Point Island is a better choice over the large rotunda that most couples choose.
Rachel did a great thing that I think a lot of Brides could potentially do. When she arrived at the ceremony she started to freak out and get really, really nervous. So she said to her bridal party… “Tell me a joke”. And they started telling her jokes. This seemed to do the trick and relaxed her enough to confidently walk down the aisle.

Public Dining Room is located on the southern end of Balmoral Beach and sits along the boardwalk, opposite the historic Balmoral Baths, with beautiful views of the water and the beach. The wedding reception was held inside the restaurant and there was also a lovely outdoor terrace where guests could relax and drink.
Of the 500 weddings I have shot over the years, Public Dining Room is only the second wedding venue I have ever shot in where I was served a service meal the same time as the Bride & Groom!! This may seem a small thing to you, but if you are a wedding photographer, you would know how awesome this is. Most venues won’t serve the photographers till after they have fed the whole wedding. We basically get whatever is left over. The problem with this is, once the food is all out, speeches often start. Meaning we miss out on a meal, or get to a cold meal much later in the night. So Public Dining Room… you guys are awesome!!
