Enzo Weddings Hunter Valley
Ultimate Guide
Enzo Weddings Hunter Valley
One of my very favourite wedding venues is Enzo Weddings Hunter Valley. I have been photographing weddings there for so many years now. I have lost count of how many weddings I have shot there. But every wedding that I shoot there is totally different because of the light, climate and the time of year.
Enzo weddings at Ironbark Hill vineyard is located in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales. The Hunter Valley is one of Australia’s most important wine regions and has played a major role in the success of Australian wines worldwide. And Enzo weddings is located on an actual vineyard that produces wines for Peter Drayton.
One thing remains the same, however. Every time I photograph a wedding at Enzo Weddings I am blown away with the amazing service from the staff, management and owners there. They work so hard to make sure every couple and every wedding has the most amazing experience at their Hunter Valley wedding venue.
Enzo Weddings at Ironbark Hill
Enzo Weddings at Ironbark Hill sits on 30 acres of land in Pokolbin in the Hunter Valley wine region in NSW. It is located at Peter Drayton Wines Ironbark Hill. Also located on the property is The Brewhouse with the Cellar Door and some accommodation but they are separate from Enzo. Enzo Weddings has a chapel and a reception venue which are located towards the front of the property.
When you get married at Enzo Weddings at Ironbark Hill, you will be happy to know that all the vines you see in the Ironbark Hill vineyard are used in Peter Drayon’s amazing wines.
The Ironbark Hill vineyard produces some beautiful Australian wines from a variety of grapes. The Hunter Valley is famous for its Shiraz, Chardonnay and Semillon but Peter Drayton has also planted extensively with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Verdelho and Tyrian, which is a hybrid grape produced by the CSIRO.
The vineyard extends all the way through the back of the Ironbark Hill property. And when you take photos in the vines, it’s nice to know that you are walking though the vineyard of some of the best winemakers in the country.
Wedding Accommodation
One of the great things about having a wedding in the Hunter Valley is that there are so many accommodation options available. From five-star resorts to cabins, and private home rentals. For a wedding couple, I always recommend trying to stay on-site at your actual wedding venue, if they offer accommodation. Or stay somewhere really close to your venue.
There are a few really good options available if you are having an Enzo Wedding.
There are six small modern cabins actually onsite at the vineyard. They are one and two-bedroom cabins but they are relatively small. If there is just one or two of you, then they are a good option. But if you are having a bridal party getting ready with you, you will find them a bit too cramped. But they are a great option for wedding night accommodation or accommodation for your guests and family.
Ironbark Retreat is located to the very rear of the property. It offers a lot more room as it is a four-bedroom house that sleeps up to fifteen people. You could say it is more a large family house. It is located in a really beautiful location overlooking the vineyard. And it is just a one minute drive up the dirt road to the side of the property.
Enzo Cottage is probably the place I would highly recommend if you are having an Enzo wedding Hunter Valley. Modern, rustic luxury and it is perfect for wedding accommodation.
It’s located about a two-minute drive from Enzo Weddings, so it is really close to your venue. It actually has two sections to it. The main house with a huge living area, kitchen and three bedrooms. And the Master Suite, which has a huge four-poster Kind bed and huge ensuite.
This really is the perfect location for wedding preparations on the morning of your wedding.
There is heaps of accommodation options around Pokolbin and around Enzo Weddings, but these three options should be high up on your list to consider.
And if you are looking for the perfect property for morning wedding preparation and wedding night accommodation, then I would have to recommend Enzo Cottage. It is modern, luxurious, spacious, private and beautiful for photography.
Wedding Ceremony in The Chapel
Enzo Weddings have a beautiful air-conditioned chapel on-site which features stunning floor to ceiling windows that overlook the vines. The chapel is literally surrounded by vineyards. So you can get married with the vineyards and vines in the background as you say your vows. And did I mention that it is air-conditioned?
You and your guests get air-conditioned comfort and the shelter and protection of a chapel, but you still get the feel of an outdoor vineyard wedding.
But you want an outdoor wedding ceremony in the Hunter Valley? You can still do that at Enzo Weddings. It is a pretty huge property, so you could potentially have your ceremony anywhere on the property.
The only I would say is that the Hunter Valley can get extremely hot and the sun can be pretty brutal. Temperatures regularly exceed 35°C and I have even done a couple of weddings where it has gone over 40°C. So I wouldn’t recommend an outdoor ceremony in Summer.
Wedding Celebrant Mel
When you look into having your wedding at Enzo Weddings Hunter Valley, you will no doubt speak with Mel and Aimee. They are both amazing ladies who will bend over backwards to make your day awesome. But Mel is also a registered Marriage Celebrant and she is a damn good one! And I really mean that.
I have photographed over 500 weddings over the years and I have seen so many terrible, terrible wedding ceremonies conducted by celebrants.
Please trust me when I say that Mel does an amazing job as a wedding celebrant. So you should choose her if you are having a wedding at Enzo and you want a modern, fun and personal ceremony.
Wedding Photos at Enzo Weddings
Enzo Weddings is located in thirty acres of land and there is quite a bit of variety in the landscape. So there are plenty of photo options available for you that are within walking distance.
These photos below are from the vines located right next to the chapel.
Just behind the chapel, the landscape starts to open up a bit as you get away from the buildings on the property.
There is a nice dirt road on the side of the property, lots of big trees and a large dam. Beyond the dam, there are more vines. This starts to back onto the other accommodation property, Ironbark Retreat. There are lots of photographic options down the back and around the property.
The Hunter Valley is such a picturesque location that you can even travel offsite and stop on the side of the road to get some epic photos in the landscape. So it really just depends on how much time you have between the ceremony and reception and if you want to venture away from the property or not.
Reception at Enzo Weddings
Modern design with rustic, country elegance is how I would describe the reception venue.
It has a huge high pitched roof, a sandstone fireplace, chandeliers. And the whole side of the venue has large glass doors that open up to a terrace and look out onto more vines.
It is a great combination of indoors and outdoors which wedding guests love.
What is even more important in a wedding venue is how the good the food and service is. And these guys are absolutely amazing. They are always smiling and bubbly. And they all work so hard every wedding to make sure everyone is happy and enjoying themselves. And the food is sooo good.
You can even organise fireworks!! Which can be a spectacular event for you and your guests.
The Hunter Valley is also a beautiful place for photos at night. Most of the time, you can see the stars and it is sometimes possible to get photos of you beneath the stars.
