The Seacliff House Gerringong wedding of Jo and Chris was a beautiful and stunning wedding that took place in one of the best South Coast wedding venues around.
Seacliff House is located around two hours drive from Sydney in the small South Coast town of Gerringong. Which is only about ten minutes south of Kiama. And what a perfect location for a wedding.
Every time I drive past Gerringong I am in total awe of how beautiful the landscape in this area is. Rolling green hills and lush pastures, that are full of dairy cattle. And this beautiful farmland is located right on the coast overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
Seacliff House South Coast
Seacliff House sits on top of a hill on five-acres of land, overlooking the sweeping landscape and overlooking Werri Beach and Werri Lagoon. It is modern seaside luxury.
What I really love about Seacliff House in Gerringong, is that the entire wedding day from beginning to the very end, can all happen on site. It makes it so much easier for everyone attending the wedding, as once they arrive, they can just drink and be merry.
The wedding day started off with the boys at a private house in Gerringong while the Bride and her entourage stayed onsite at Seacliff House. The accommodation house on site is a beautiful modern five-bedroom home with three bathrooms, kitchen, BBQ area and a luxury pool.
I love it when couples walk back down the aisle and their wedding guests throw stuff at them. It is such an awesome moment and the confetti really added another element. This confetti was definitely one of the most epic I have photographed.
So after the wedding ceremony, we did a few family photos and then Jo & Chris just hung out with all their wedding guests.
The Bride & Groom had their ceremony slightly earlier than normal for a wedding around this time of the year. But the reasoning was perfect. They just wanted to hang out with their guests on the lawn, drinking, eating and chatting and to make use of the stunning landscape and views. Because once the sun has set, you can’t see the rolling green hills. So why enjoy the daylight more and hang out with your family and friends for longer.
I think it really worked well. They really got to chat to everyone and enjoy the day, instead of going straight into wedding portrait photos.
They knocked out a couple of speeches during this time. And it is such a great idea, especially if you have a lot of speeches planned. Do a couple of speeches outside while everyone is just hanging around eating and drinking.
Seacliff House Wedding Photos
After an hour or so, and once the first set of speeches finished, we then did a few location portraits with just the two of them.
Doing some wedding photos with just the wedding couple is one of my favourite parts of a wedding. One of my main goals is to just let the couple relax, have fun and be themselves. When this happens and they just enjoy the moment together, then you get to capture some beautiful, natural expressions in a scenic location.
And these guys were amazing. This is just a very small sample of some of the wedding photos we captured at Seacliff House.
The Barn at Seacliff House
The Barn at Seacliff House Gerringong, was the location for the wedding reception. In 2017 it was converted from an actual working farm shed that contained farm machines and equipment, to what you see now. A modern and rustic wedding venue. With large white sandstone and floor to ceiling glass windows and doors. Prior to 2017, they used a marquee for the wedding receptions.
What I also love about this wedding reception venue is that is a a bit of a blank canvas venue, but the interior has been done so nicely that you really don’t need to do too much to it. A few flowers and some candles and it looks perfect.
After the meals were served, Jo & Chris had some really funny and heartfelt speeches followed by an absolutely packed dance floor. It was a pretty epic wedding reception and just an overall amazing party.
Seacliff House is one of those special wedding venues. By having your wedding there you can pretty much guarantee an awesome time and experience and of course beautiful wedding photos. I had such an amazing time photographing this stunning Seacliff House Gerringong wedding. And I can’t wait to go back there and photograph more weddings in the future.
The stunning Chateau Elan Hunter Valley wedding of Rebecca & Kahn was an absolute honour and privilege to photograph.
Everything happen onsite at one place… the beautiful beautiful Chateau Elan. The wedding ceremony was held at The Carriage House and I got to witness Rebecca’s Mum & Dad walk her down the aisle.
Enjoy this beautiful Chateau Elan Hunter Valley wedding… and feel free to leave a comment for the Bride & Groom or us ;)
The Bistro Molines wedding of Amanda & Tim was a pretty epic and awesome day at one of my favourite wedding venues.
I shot Amanda & Tim’s engagement a few months earlier so I was totally psyched to photograph their big day. They boys got ready in a private house in Rothbury while the girls got ready onsite in a little cottage. The weather was perfect! It threatened to rain all day, so we had nice soft light. And once everyone started dinner the rain really set in.
Big thanks to the Bride & Groom for standing out in the pouring rain for a night shot while I adjusted camera settings etc. Not every couple would be so happy to do that… as it was really raining. So enjoy this beautiful Bistro Molines wedding and be sure to check out the last couple of photos below to see what we created in the rain ☔️
This Turon Gates wedding in Capertree was such a beautiful and memorable wedding with one of the nicest couples you could ever meet, Jordy & Lachy
This was a DIY wedding to the extreme. Jordy & Lachy did absolutely everything themselves. Well… them and their small army of family and friends. Everything you see in the photos below was brought in by truck by this couple and I really can’t believe how much work they did. And it paid off because the wedding looked amazing!
This beautiful wedding took place in Turon Gates, which is located in Capetree, just over the Blue Mountains. It basically sits between Mudgee, Bathurst, Lithgow and Katoomba. And this place in breathtakingly beautiful.
The original landowners at Turon Gates were the Wiradjuri people prior to white settlement. From the 1950s Turon Gates was the site of a gold rush. With thousands of miners working in the Turon River searching for gold.
To get there, I drove over the Blue Mountains and down into the Capertree Valley which is stunning in itself. Then I took a long dirt road that led me into Turon Gates and through farmlands and up into the mountains. Turon Gates is a huge area, with over 6000 acres. And there are log cabins located along the mountain top that has some of the best views you can imagine.
The Turon Gates wedding venue was located over the mountains and down in another valley and was situated next to the Turon River. Where there were camping facilities, log cabins, the Pavillion and luxury glamping tents. What a location! This was an Aussie bush wedding at its best.
The wedding ceremony took place down on the river bed itself with the sound of the flowing water and check out the amazing wedding arbour.
After the wedding ceremony the couple hung out with their guests for a while and then we drove back up the mountain for some sunset photos.
The wedding reception was outside under festoon and fairy lights with a mobile wood fire pizza oven, caravan bar and lots of casual seating. The Pavilion Tent was used as a wet weather back up and had the food buffet and the dancefloor.
This Turon Gates wedding was so relaxed, informal and totally joyful. I can see this place becoming very popular with couples in the future because it has everything you need for an amazing country wedding. And the location is absolutely stunning!
The Adams Peak Wedding in Broke of Kayte & Adam was a wedding that was literally very close to home for us. As Kayte & Adam are actually our neighbours and live just across the road from us. So I really wanted to do a good job for them :)
The whole day & night all happened on property at Adams Peak. They both got ready in different rooms on site so it was really easy for me to walk back and forth between them. The wedding ceremony and reception, which was held out in ‘The Barn’, was all beautifully decorated by the Bride & Groom. Lots of DIY. They needed a truck to bring all the decorations and also used their Grandparents furniture on the lawn for the pre dinner drinks area.
The Bride & Groom also had an ‘unplugged’ ceremony. Their dad just asked the guest to put down their cameras, be present and enjoy the wedding ceremony.
Adam & Kayte’s Adams Peak wedding was an amazing day to be a part of.
Tazzie & Lachlan are such amazing spirits and their Estate Tuscany wedding was such an awesome day to photograph.
Estate Tuscany is situated in one of the most beautiful locations in the Hunter Valley, overlooking acres of vineyards and this is where whole wedding day happened from beginning to end. They both got ready at Estate Tuscany, but just at different ends of the property. Sso they didn’t see each other before the ceremony.
After the ceremony we ran though the vines and even climbed through a barbed wired fence to get to the field we wanted. I also love how they made their daughter an important part of the day. You can see some lovely moments during the ceremony and reception. She even made a speech and joined in one their ‘first dance’.
So please enjoy this beautiful Estate Tuscany wedding in the Hunter Valley.
